Attitude of Gratitude

                   Attitude of Gratitude

“What you study you become.”

I saw a white water spout drill down through dark-blue water to a greater and greater depth. It was beautiful in its process as the water succumbed to its progress.

“I want to create a new pathway in you. A pathway directly within Me toward gratitude. When you study the works of the enemy, you increase in anger, resentment, and guilt. You find fault in God and your fear increases and so does your desire to control. If you operate from a place of gratitude, you see all that I have done for you and your children. You acknowledge there are so many things I have prevented and kept you safe from. The enemy lies and sends sickness and disease. Do not study these things. Live from a place of gratitude and acknowledgement of My goodness.”

Had I been studying what the enemy was doing? I guess so. When I took an honest look at my life, I was studying my son’s disease, not the miracle of his life. I couldn’t see the healing that was and is taking place. I could only see what I didn’t yet have.

I did not have an “Attitude of Gratitude”

I need what God desires to give me. I need this deep new pathway to gratitude. So that I might operate from a place of victory, not resentment and desire to control.

Maybe you do too. I don’t know your current circumstances, but I know God has done a mighty work in them. He has prevented more things than we would ever care to know about both for you and for me. I also know that He works out all things for the good of those who love Him.

I need help in bringing gratitude into my daily life. So that I don’t just offer up a prayer or praise and move on in my day, but that I live from that place of worship. I did a Google search on scriptures about gratitude and there are so many treasures to be found in this pursuit. A few are found below.

“I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.” (Psalm 86:12)

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!” (Psalms 103:1)

I found a link to a beautiful page with 25 Bible verses about being thankful. Below is the link.

Prayer for you and me: Lord Jesus, Your faithfulness is beyond measure. We know You won’t leave us where You found us. You will continue to do a good work within us. Help us operate from a place of gratitude. Grant us an attitude of gratitude. So that we dwell in the place of praise every moment of our lives. You are more than capable of rescuing us. Rescue us from ourselves. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
