Desperate for Wisdom

I saw a two-headed turtle that spun around in circles. I understood that when one head pulled one way, and the other head wanted to go the other that it would tear itself apart. Meanwhile, the legs seemed to be on rotating spinners that went round and round. The whole thing was absurd.
God instructed me. “If you act like the turtle, you will get nowhere and will tear yourself apart.”
I couldn’t argue against that logic.
He continued. “It is vitally important that you have your mind set on one destination, one decision, and one life plan. Single-minded certainty is a gift. This certainty comes from My wisdom I freely give. The results of this gift are peace, strength, and joy, even in difficult situations, because you have a life purpose. This allows you to say no to the things that don’t align.”

What freedom. It is of great importance to have God‘s wisdom. We should be desperate for wisdom.
“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. (James 3:17, ESV).
Wisdom is to be valued above gold because it brings so much more than money.
When you think about the verse and look at what an amazing gift God’s wisdom is. It is incredible. Our man-made intelligence is laughable in comparison.
What if we all operated with His wisdom?
The verse says we would have pure wisdom untainted by other people’s opinions, life circumstances, the media or any other worldly influence. The knowledge given would be the Truth and we could rely on it as such.
He also says the wisdom God gives is peaceable it would not unrighteously create strife between people.
It is also gentle, meaning it would not force itself on others and try to establish dominance.
It is open to reason and not prideful to believe that your way is the only way.
Full of mercy to see the circumstances and not judge, but love the person and yourself through it.
The wisdom that He gives will bear good fruit. No one will have to guess if they made the right decision. It will be obvious.
Impartial meaning that if we use His wisdom, we won’t predetermine a decision based on assumptions or on what “looks” good.
Sincere meaning that the wisdom He gives won’t come from a place of lies or half-truths, but will be completely open and honest with no hidden agendas. If we can tap into this kind of wisdom, can you imagine what peace this will produce within us?

The absurd turtle reminded me of the little parable of a person who was working so hard to get a ladder up against a building and climb up at as fast as they could. Meanwhile, it was the wrong building. So, no matter how fast or hard they worked, it was useless.
Life feels like that sometimes when we work so hard to find out it wasn’t what we really wanted or needed. Wasted effort—ugh. He reminds me how imperative it is to know with all certainty where you should be in his plan. To rely on Him for destination, timing, strength, and for continued direction. Any human intelligence pales pitifully compared to the supernatural wisdom that God desires to give us.
When we have His wisdom and direction, it gives us peace, contentment, joy, confidence, strength, and all other things fall into alignment when we obey His plan.
It sets us free to work with all our hearts, knowing that we will accomplish a worthwhile thing.
Blessed freedom and peace. What a gift.
Prayer for you and me: Lord, grant us wisdom to keep our hearts and minds on your path so that we don’t waste our efforts on our own plans instead of Yours. Thank You, that You are a great father who knows what our deepest hearts want and need. Thank You for Your guidance. We need You. Amen.
His wisdom always rise and prevails over ours. We just get in the way.
"Any human intelligence pales pitifully compared to the supernatural wisdom that God desires to give us." Yes this! Thank you, Heather!
