Hidden in the Lord

Hidden in the Lord

I saw a vast open green field with a mountain in the distance the sun skittered across the peaks. As I watched the scene, it zoomed in on the valley and soon I saw military green mesh netting canopies, creating a sea of concealment for an army beneath it. What I thought was a lush green valley was, in fact, a network of canopies that hid a vast army.

“Ask yourself, why does an army need to be concealed? He then answered.”

If they are behind enemy lines and they must stay hidden. This happens in a time of preparation and planning. And when…

∗ Structures and infrastructures need to be made

           ∗ Supplies distributed

∗ Intelligence gathered regarding strategic places that need to be neutralized

∗ Obedience training in the small things to prepare for the larger

∗ Training on how to love with prejudice (a legal term that means you cannot refile the same claim again in that court) We must forgive and not continue to retrial people for what God has required us to forgive them for.

This time for preparation and waiting is not for complacency

I repeat this is not a time for complacency.

Just because you are not in active battle, do not confuse this as a time without purpose or direction.

The Lord is doing mighty things and watching for our obedience in all things even and especially during these times of uncertainty. When we feel a shift, but don’t yet see the movement.

All of this made me wonder had I been believing that being hidden in the Lord meant nothing was happening? Maybe a part of me. Maybe I thought I should just continue with my ordinary little life and not worry about waiting in expectancy for His next move. He desires a willing partner, anticipating the joy of His wisdom and majesty. A partner delighted in being a co-laborer with Him to see His miracles manifest on earth.

Had I been complacent?

When I looked up complacent, it means showing smug or uncritical satisfaction with oneself or one’s achievements.

Ouch. Complacent seems to fit my own actions and when I look around other Christians in America. We are satisfied with our lives and believe in this time of preparation that there is nothing we should do and there is no urgency to seek His face and wisdom. I think we are gravely wrong. In this time of preparation, hidden in the Lord, it is critical we seek His face. We need to be ready and submitted for the next move of God.

“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” (Colo. 3: 1-4, ESV)

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.” (Prov. 18:10, ESV)

I desire to be exactly where the Lord wants me to be. To be found in submission, hidden in the Lord.

Prayer for you and me: Thank You, Lord, for preparing the way. You are the Alpha and Omega and are always preparing our hearts and providing the precise circumstances needed to develop our character and gifts that we need to fulfill our destinies. Thank You, for the preparation times. Help us to fully engage in what You are doing in our lives with complete and immediate obedience.
