You delight the Lord!

You delight the Lord!

You heard me correctly. You delight the Lord. When I asked Him what He wanted me to talk about today, it was this topic. Not too long ago, He had directed me to speak on being a delight to the Lord at a woman’s conference.

The format for the talk consisted first of prayer to align everyone’s entire being to the understanding they are a delight. Then he had me describe a vision that exemplified His extravagant love for us. And finally, prayer again to pull it all together and seal it into our hearts.

“The Lord your God is with you,

    the Mighty Warrior who saves.

He will take great delight in you;

in his love he will no longer rebuke you,

but will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17, NIV)

Take a moment and let that scripture sing over you. Do you believe you delight the Lord? Now is the time to be honest. When you hear the words, “You delight the Lord.” What percentage do you believe that 10%, 90%? Take inventory of that now and then consider it again after you have prayed the following prayer and meditated on Zephaniah.

With the following prayer, speak it out loud with your hand on the specific body part we are speaking to at that time.

Lord Jesus, we agree we delight You. Help us bring that deep into our entire beings. (hand on head) We speak to our mind, “You delight the Lord.” We speak to each individual brain cell and every synapsis and even pre-synaptic thought to get into alignment with the Word and will of God. (hand on mouth) We speak to our mouths, “You delight the Lord.” Only blessings will flow from our mouths in the mighty name of Jesus. We shall no longer curse or speak ill of any image-bearer of God, including ourselves. (hand on heart) We speak to our hearts, “You delight the Lord.” Heart muscles be restored to a heart of flesh and not of stone. Let each cell become supple to accept the will of God. We ask you to open the spiritual eyes and ears of our hearts to hear from God. (hand on stomach) We speak to our gut, “You delight the Lord.” Gut get in alignment with the will of the Lord. Let living water flow from our bellies. (hands on hips) We speak to our hips, “You delight the Lord.” Pelvis and legs release all trauma, in Jesus’ name. We will stand on the Rock of salvation, Jesus Christ. Thank You, Jesus. Amen.

Then He had me speak on a vision He had given me many years ago. Out of the blue, without me having done anything to deserve it, He determined to show me how much humankind delighted Him.

I was deep in prayer and had asked the Lord what our plan was for the day. He responded, “Daughter. Daughter, ask Me to see My treasure room.”

Instantly delighted. A million thoughts of gold-laden streets and jewel-encrusted treasures ran through my mind. What would the Maker of the Universe have in His treasure room? I was about to find out.

We stood at a double door two times the size I had ever seen on earth. He stepped forward and opened one door. I moved inside, drawn by the sound of millions of tinkling glass bottles of every shape, size, and color. The bottles were perched between two thin silver rails that were a type of conveyor system moving the bottles throughout the room. To describe it as a room was absurd it would be best described as a vast cavernous area. One which I could not see the edges.

Confused I turned to the King. “What are these bottles and what do they mean?”

“They are my treasure. The tears of the saints released in moments of joy, despair, triumph, and agony in sacrifice to their Lord. Captured even as they fall. Every moment of your lives are documented for my good pleasure. You are my trophies of excellence. I delight in you.”

A wave of pleasure rolled over me as I basked in His acceptance. To be known and treasured was intoxicating.

I invite you to believe the fact that you delight the Lord. No performance is required.

Prayer for you and me:

Lord Jesus, Your ways are so far above ours. How can we comprehend You? Teach us to freely release the tears You deserve. Help us know as we labor with You there is no moment wasted or lost. You define them all as treasures. Bring my entire being into the understanding that my status as a son or daughter is the only thing needed to be a delight to You. Let us always be thankful for Your sacrifice for us. Help me reach out and pull up from the mire those who have not yet chosen You. Grant us the salvation of our pre-saved loved ones. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
